Holiday Cheer - Chocolate Chess Pie

Chocolate Chess Pie
The Cook’s Cottage and Suites B&B
Fredericksburg, TX

Ingredients:

2 cups sugar
¼ cup unsweetened powdered cocoa
1 cup evaporated milk
3 eggs, beaten
1/3 cup butter, melted
2 teaspoons vanilla
Dash salt
Prepared 9-inch crumb crust of your choice
French vanilla ice cream, melted

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F. In mixing bowl combine sugar and cocoa. Add milk, eggs, butter, vanilla and salt. Pour into pie shell and bake for 50 minutes or until filling is just set when gently shaken. Filling will settle slightly as it cools. Place two to three tablespoons of melted vanilla ice cream on each severing plate, then top with pie slice.
