July 29th guest blogger

I haven't heard from my guest blogger yet. I hope I do, but if not, I'll find something to blog about. How about the 15 month granddaughter opening a bottle of bright red nail polish and flinging it around -- all over her brother's hair and clothes, on her clothes and all over my couch! This took place in about a 60 second time period when she wasn't being watched.

The couch is about 15 years old and has had its corner scratched to bits by the cats. I've been thinking of getting a slipcover for it, but haven't yet. Well, guess I will now! Actually, we need a new couch, however, mayhap it's a good thing we hadn't gotten one before today.

Any funny "I can't believe they just did that" stories?

OMG, Anna, red nail polish??? I'm not laughing I swear!!! And I don't think I can outdo the yarn story but yesterday my parents came over and decided to take my 3 boys home with them. My oldest who will be 17 next week didn't want the younger two to go- so he complained and told them to stay home, which of course they didn't. So, as my oldest was complaining about it, my 4yr old walks over, stands in front of the 17yr old, sticks his thumb in his mouth, then puts his hands up to his eyes like he was wiping away tears!! It was so funny! The 17yr old was speechless!! And that doesn't happen to often!!

Anyway, good luck with the grandkids- JcPenny sells great sofa covers! :O)

Oh, and I recieved the pillow cases, they are really cool!! Thanks again!

Oh no, red nail polish! It can't get much worse that that!

When my oldest son was a baby, he "painted" his bedroom wall with his feces! That was a lot of fun to clean up! :/(

OMG, we tend to forget how much the little ones need to be watched. At that age you can't take your eyes off of them for one min. Red finger nail polish has to be about the worse thing she could have got into. I guess you well have a couch with red poka dots.

When I was a child, I painted my feet and legs with nail polish. I was in so much trouble. LOL

I remember when my daughter was young she locked me outof theh ouse while Iwas storing stuff against a hurrican. She took the cat, locked herself in the bathroom, and gave the cat a bath with a whole bottle of shampoo. Then she could not get the door open using thoe slippery hands. The police had to helpme break in, which was great seeing as my hubby was a sate trooper. He did get teased for that one. good luck with the munchkins

It is kind of funny! I can't imagine it in her brother's hair, though! When I was a kid, I stuck small rocks up my nose. They had to take me to the doctor and he picked them out one at a time! Cindi

Good luck with finding a new couch! I'd love a new one to but my "kids" are 24 and 27 and no grandchildren, no "help" from them, will have to think of something else to convince my hubby...

When my twin's were about two, they snagged a carton of eggs from the counter and dropped them one at a time to watch the yellow parts slide across the floor. It was their laughter that had me racing back into the room, and man, cleaning it all up was just kind of gross, lol.

I can sympathize since my 21 month old daughter did something similiar just a few weeks ago. She somehow got a hold of a black marker and decided to draw on the couch while I was distracted. The couch is just a few years old so I was pretty upset but managed to get it out pretty much with Resolve cleaner. What was leftis not so noticeable by someone unless they know about it so I am glad I got to it in time. It took hours of scrubbing though.

This is a story from when my sister & I were younger. My parents were divorced & my mom was trying to raise us on her own working 2 & 3 jobs at a time. She would get home from her day job & I would make her dinner (I was about 11 & my sister 9) while she did her makeup & hair to go to her evening job as a barmaid. Without her glasses she was nearly blind. She asked my sister to make a cup of instant coffee & my sister asked how much to put in the cup to which my mother replied, "a level teaspoon." She made the coffee & handed it to my mom who took a huge gulp while still fixing her makeup with the other hand...she then spit it all over the table choking & coughing. She asked my sister, "What did you put in here?" & she said, "eleven teaspoons like you said." It was very thick & potent...

Is it too late to play? When I was about six or seven, I decided to make a "ghost" by putting an old wig on my bedroom lamp (which was on), then went out to play. Well, guess what happened? The wig was ruined and boy, did my bedroom stink!
I also tried nearly poisoned myself eating the insides of apricot pits. Right around the same age, too!
