Wednesday's Chow - Five Minute Chocolate Cake

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg 3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug (MicroSafe)

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.

Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.

Add the chocolate chips and vanilla extract, and mix again. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.

The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!

Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.EAT!

This can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous.

And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

Pampered Chef has a recipe for a 10 minute cake and I thought that was dangerous!!!

Oh... my. That is so not fair to post a recipe like that! And on Ash Wednesday when I'm trying to be good. Yet here I am mentally ticking off each of the ingredients. Yep, got that. Yep, got that...

Definitely dangerous!

I know, Nicole...I did think about that. I should be doing a meatless stew, not a chocolate cake. I'm not fasting today, but I am staying away from diet cokes (which I gave up for Lent) meat, and candy. The candy is hard, cause you know what I found at Kroger's on Monday? The Brach's malted speckled chocolate covered eggs! My favorite which you can only get at Easter time. So, I have an open bag in the house, which I've avoided all day!

OMG. This is too bad!!! Kids are grown and I live by myself (with 2 dogs) and now I have NO excuse for not baking a cake. I even have Cool Whip in the freezer.

Thanks for the invite over for Wednesday's Chow "THE cake in a mug"! Not a good idea for an author. This is too quick and easy for chocolate-holics.
I like the cover of your latest book.

Did you try this? Did it work? My microwave kills foods like bread...

Acutally, I have to confess, I have not tried this...maybe another reason I should have gone with another recipe. It would have given me a chance to try it out.

So, anyone try it? Is it good?

I gave up sweets for today (and only today), so I can't fix it for another 2 1/2 hours....lol. But I'll fix it soon.

Bad girl, bad girl.

Just reading the recipe and licking on the pictures on the screen still made my mouth water.

And yes, I have all those ingredients, plus the cool whip.

Share...I think not!

There goes my best reason not to bake cakes. I live alone and would eat way too much. But this recipe?
