Today, I bought a heart monitor. It's a step monitor as well, but I really got it to monitor my heart when I'm doing Zumba. I have a fast heart beat as it is, and do take meds to slow it down, so I was curious to know what it did when I was jumping around in class....not too bad, actually. But I did want to pass on some stuff that is in the little booklet that came with the monitor. They are little gems of wisdom.

"According to the National Institute of Health, the normal adult resting heart rate falls between 60 to 100 beats per minute, but well-trained athletes fall at the low end of that range and sometimes 10-20 beats lower." [the older you are, the slower your heart rate should be).

My goal for this week is to get back to the healthy eating, after Friday's Fish Fry...lol. But I do need to get back to the 1,200 calorie diet (more calories per day if I exercise daily...another reason to exercise, more food! LOL. Yes, yes, healthy food.).
Do you have a healthy goal for the week?

My healthy goal is to get out walking more. My excuse is the horrific weather - Winter here. The wind is blowing up from the Antarctic. Think "Happy Feet" penguins and you might have some idea.
I hear you, Mary. Up here, it's summer, a very hot summer. I use that as an excuse not to walk. Is there an indoor mall or track you cam use? Walking the mall has gotten popular in the States. It's heated or air conditioned as needed.
