Holiday Cheer Returns Tomorrow

It's that time again for Holiday Cheer...daily recipes and holiday quotes.  I'll re-post some old stand-by recipes, along with some new ones during the month.  AND I'll be giving away prizes periodically, too. So if you leave a comment with your email you'll be entered in the drawing. The first prize up will be Kohl's Cares Good Housekeeping "A Very Merry Christmas" Cookbook. It "features hearty dishes, mouthwatering cookies and traditional table centerpieces the entire family will enjoy." I'll draw a winner for it next Wednesday, Dec. 7th.

In the meantime, here's a little Holiday Cheer for you to enjoy now.  BTW, there's a recipe, too....try to get past the man candy for the candy recipe.

Candy Crunch

Ingredients:

4 c pretzel sticks or pretzel twists
4 c (24-oz) white chocolate chips
1 (14-oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 c dried fruit (dried cranberries, raisins, etc.)

Directions:

Line a 15X10 jellyroll pan with tinfoil.

Place pretzels in a large bowl.  In a large saucepan, melt chips with milk over low heat.  Stir until smooth.  Pour over pretzels, coating well.

Immediately spread mixture into pan.  Sprinkle with dried fruit, press down lightly with back of spoon.  Chill 1 to 2 hours.  Break into chunks.  Store loosely covered at room temperature.

Okay, I know what I want for Christmas, and amazingly enough you already have a picture of him. Skip the candy, I'll take him.
