Wednesday's Chow - Corn with Basil

I'm one of those people whose idea of vegetable side dish is...open can, heat it up. But my niece, Joa, really likes to cook, try new recipes and make up some of her own. She passed this vegetable side dish on to me.  Enjoy.

Corn with Basil

Ingredients:

1 large bag of frozen corn
2 Tbsp. margarine
1 medium onion, chopped
2 celery sticks, chopped
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp garlic powder

Directions:

In a medium saucepan melt margarine. Add onion and celery. Cook until soft. Add corn, basil, salt, and garlic. Cook 10 minutes, or until corn is done. Remove from heat and serve.

Anna... that sounds so yummy. I love corn and I love Basil. I'm going to have to try that. Yummy.

Anna Kathryn--I will definitely try this. I have sauteed corn in a little butter and garlic salt--that's really good, and my husband thinks I've made some exotic dish. And you must use frozen corn.
Basil will definitely work with this--Thanks! Celia
