When I started reading it all those years ago I put it down after three pages because it was slow and just not what I wanted to read as a young teen. I've been reading it for the past five days, am just past the halfway point, and getting irate when things like school and work and sleep prevent me from continuing... I said the other day, this is the first book that has actually made me rude - I tune you out and don't care, lol. I believe it's true that reading improves our writng. Ever notice how you read with a critical eye? You notice changes in POV, passive voice and all those things that we're not supposed to do. Also, when I read a book I really loved, I want to know what made it so good so I can apply that to my own writing.
Right now I'm reading The Valentine's Ball by Julia Parks--a new found author that I have come to love.
Even though I'm deep in edits for my next release, I still read.Sarah J.
